Walk in prepared

Appointment Prep

A little preparation can help you get more out of every visit.

Before your appointment

  • Write down your top 3 concerns.
  • Bring a list of your medications and supplements.
  • Write a short timeline of when symptoms started and how they've changed.
  • Bring someone with you if you can, to listen and take notes.

During your appointment

  • Lead with your most important concern.
  • Ask, "What else could this be?"
  • Ask, "What's the next step if this doesn't help?"
  • If a test or referral is declined, ask that it be noted in your chart.

After your appointment

  • Read your visit notes in your patient portal.
  • Write down what was decided while it's fresh.
  • Follow up if you don't hear back about results.
  • Remember: getting a second opinion is your right.
